Trump’s Controversial Post

Donald Trump has drawn criticism for posting an AI-generated video that depicts him interacting playfully with a tiger, shortly after a tragic incident where a man was killed at a zoo in Yorkshire.
The victim, identified as William Chapman, lost his life after entering the tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Saturday, October 10th, where he was attacked by the animal.
The distressing footage of the attack circulated widely, showing emergency responders at the scene, but unfortunately, Chapman was pronounced dead on-site.
In the wake of the incident, Trump took to Truth Social to share a surreal AI clip of himself. The video opens with Trump appearing to confront a tiger, echoing a moment from the viral footage of the attack.
In the AI rendition, the tiger strikes Trump, who then chases it, eventually wrestling with it on the grass while the song ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ plays in the background.

This generated clip closely resembles the start of the viral video capturing the tragic events at the wildlife park. Earlier, Trump had posted the original footage of the attack, captioning it: “Don’t ever mess with nature!”.
Social media users expressed outrage over the AI video, with one critic labeling it ‘disgusting’, stating: “Absolutely disgusting coming from the President of the United States. Complete disgrace.” Another user remarked: “Here’s the President posting AI videos of himself wrestling with a tiger because of a recent news story in which a man was publicly mauled to death.”
‘William was a bright, warm and engaging young man’
In a heartfelt statement, Chapman’s family expressed their devastation, noting that he had struggled with significant mental health issues over the years. They requested that the public refrain from sharing distressing media related to the incident.
“The family are utterly devastated by their loss and are struggling to come to terms with what has happened,” they stated on Tuesday. “The publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing them severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time. We ask people to stop doing this.”
The statement further highlighted: “William was a bright, warm and engaging young man whom his family dearly loved – and William loved them back.”

In a release on October 10th, South Yorkshire Police reported receiving calls about a man entering the tiger enclosure. The tiger subsequently attacked him, causing fatal injuries. Emergency services arrived, but despite their efforts, Chapman was declared dead.
The family is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time. Police reassured the public that the tiger was unharmed and remained in the enclosure, posing no further risk. Following the incident, the Yorkshire Wildlife Park was evacuated, and officers are conducting inquiries. They urged people not to share videos of the attack.
The wildlife park confirmed that the tiger would not be euthanized after the tragic event, stating, “Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies remain with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly lost his life.” They also announced a temporary closure for staff support following the incident.
